On the left, I'm 4 months into Ibiza life...

...before realising that I'm not actually on vacation and that I can't eat all the nachos and drink all the margaritas WITHOUT consequences.
​
​
82kg or 180lbs.
​
​
Now I know, in the grand scheme of things, it wasn't that bad but it was the most out of shape I've ever been in my life.
​
​
I'm in fitness, I teach health and fitness for a living and I've had a six-pack pretty much my whole adult life.
​
​
It wasn't where I wanted to be.
​
​
I have certain standards in life when it comes to everything.
​
​
Health is no different.
​
​
It's like a thermostat.
​
​
When it gets cold, the heat kicks on and warms the place up.
​
​
When it gets too hot, the air-con kicks in and cools the place down.
​
​
This was my thermostat.
​
​
I saw the pic and said "that isn't me, I have a standard of where I want to be and how I want to feel"
​
​
I didn't feel good (for me) and knew I had to to stop messing around but I wasn't worried.
​
​
Because I know exactly how to get in shape at ANY time.
​
​
So 8 weeks later, here I am back at 76kg/167lbs and feeling good again.
​
​
And I've been much leaner and more muscular before but it's gonna be hard to replicate my 20's as I'm nearly 49 now :)
​
​
And guess how I did it?
​
​
Well to start with, I didn't eliminate carbs or alcohol.
​
​
I controlled them.
​
​
I didn't slash my calories to an entirely unreasonable and unsustainable level.
​
​
I controlled them.
​
​
I didn't let food, exercise and living a monk like existence become my reality.
​
​
Because it doesn't have to be like that.
​
​
I lived an enjoyable, sustainable and perfectly achievable life (for anyone) with my wife and kids in Ibiza...
​
​
...eating pizza EVERY friday with a few drops of the good stuff and eating ice-cream EVERY Sunday coz the kids and Alex love it as much as I do.
​
​
Life is for living, my friends.
​
​
